Crashing, bashing,
Tearing against the rocks.
Beating, banging
Louder than any drum.
The winds scream,
People cower and row to the shore.
Shrieks and shouts
Mingle with the roar of the beast.
The wailing of victims sing their mournful tune
As gunfire lights
The night sky.
Tha a ‘bhiast!
The beast of legend comes this way,
Rearing its neck high.
They shudder and shake
As its ghastly magnificence
Looms above their sinking craft.
“Tha a ‘bhiast.” a child whimpers.
A crack. A thundering.
A hush.
