I finished Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy yesterday. It was emotional. Needless to say, I felt the need to vent my feelings about it and so here we are! (Mild spoilers for book one.)
Bitter lies
Sweet lips
Feet scramble across the courtyard
Their hands clasp together
Bodies and souls joined forever
A snap
A betrayal
The wishbone is in two
He cries out
Her head rolls away
Hearts hardened
Passions shushed
A flash of azure cracks his mending walls
Is it her?
Can it be?
Or is it a false hope?
Their souls say otherwise
A whisper
A touch
Like magnets, it cannot be denied
But love and life is never simple
Burning hands
Fiery eyes
A scorched landscape
Screams, cries
The stench of death’s victory
Teeth, teeth, so many teeth
Hope is magic at the brink of the end
